Phonics

In Key Stage 1 the "Letters and Sounds" scheme is followed.

Reading at Key Stage 1

In Key Stage 1 each pupil is allocated a book to read at home.  These books are grouped according to the Book Bands which means they acan be taken from a variety of different schemes and still provide the correct level of support and challenge. These books are supplemented by the online reading resouce "Bug Club" which can be accessed through the Active Learn Primary Website.  Each child is provided with a username and password. Bug Club books are also linked to Book Bands.
