Reception class: Admissions 2018-19

Admission arrangements for the intake starting in September 2018, has changed. Please read the arrangements carefully, as the category order has been extended, and requires (in certain circumstances) a signature from your Parish Priest.

Please allow time for this, as forms need to be fully completed and submitted to the school by the 15th January 2018.

St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School is its own admissions authority: The Supplementary Information Form allows the Governors to ensure the children are categorised correctly and thus given the correct priority for admission.

Reception Appeals Process 2018-19

Admission Appeals Timetable 

1.  Parents/carers will be notified by the local authority of the result of their application on 16 April 2018.

2.  The deadline for parents lodging an appeal  - to be confirmed

3.  Appeal hearings will be held in the period - to be confirmed

4.  Appellants will be given at least 10 school days' notice of the date and location of the appeal hearing.

5.  Appellants will be able to submit additional evidence to support their appeal up to 6 days before the hearing.  This will enable photocopying and circulation to all parties in advance of the hearing.

6.  Decision letters will be sent to parents/carers within five school days of the hearing.

7.  Appeals lodged after  May 20178 (TBC) will be heard within the period June to  July 2018 (TBC) if possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
